Senator Dianne Feinstein will introduce the California Desert Conservation and Recreation Act (CDCRA) in January 2015. This is a consensus document that reflects the many uses of the desert and is the product of years of engagement with relevant stakeholders including environmental groups, local and state government officials, off-highway recreation enthusiasts, Native American tribles, local business owners, local elected officials, cattle ranchers, mining interests, energy companies, the Department of Defense and many more.
The Campaign for the California Desert enthusiastically supports passage of the CDCRA. This website offers a place to learn about the proposal and get involved. This section presents more information about the CDCRA and the places and rivers it aims to protect.
